5 Must Do Exercise Moves Before The Holidays

The holidays are fast approaching, and we all know the good parts of fall, like snacking and sharing time with friends. It's also the perfect time to work on being your best self! To save you time, we want to take a different approach to workouts leading up to the holidays. These five must-do exercises are easy, multi-purpose, and can be done anywhere with no equipment. AKA: The most efficient workout ever!

Squats

Squats are excellent for helping those core muscles stay fit and strong while sculpting your derriere and thighs. The best part is that you can do them anywhere at any time. Do a few while you're cooking dinner or as a mini wakeup-break between your daily work routine. The best part is that squats can travel with you over the holidays, too!

Pushups

Pushups are great for strengthening the shoulder, neck muscles, and toning your arms to give them that great shape. Do these on the floor traditionally or with your knees to keep your upper body strong. If that's too much, do them against a couch or wall. You'll still be working multiple muscle groups to get that lean, long look.

Hip bridge

This exercise will require you to lay on the floor, and place your shoulder blades and feet into your yoga mat (or soft floor surface). Lift those hip muscles for a great back, bottom, and core strengthening exercise while pulling your abs inward toward your spine. This pose is great for everyday exercising and for on-the-go.

V-Ups

Heading back to the floor for this one, lay flat on your back with your arms above your head. Focusing on your abs, lift your legs and upper body to create this gorgeous V shape. This exercise is all about the core and back muscles for a delicious, sculpted look that will leave you feeling stronger afterward.

Rear lunge

Most people focus on the forward lunge. By reversing this move, you will add more strength to your lower body. Turn this into a power move by adding hand weights or cans to give you a little extra push and extra exercise effort. This move starts by placing your foot behind you and making a deep plunge into the activity. Your core, butt, back, and thighs will thank you for this extra step.

Setting up for success

To complement this routine, resistance bands or tubes are easy to transport for fast strength training (which you can do in just a few minutes). Move your equipment, weights, and bands into your bedroom so you can do some exercise late at night or early in the morning. Making it easy, quick, and portable helps keep you motivated.

Exercise can help you feel energized and less stressed during the holiday frenzy. Finding the time to exercise will give you the endorphins you need to offset this season's tasty temptations. If you need more incentive, enlist a buddy! Even when you don't feel like exercising, a pep talk from your workout partner can lift you up.
