5 Best Gas Rewards Programs Worth Looking Into

As dollars fly by on the pump when you’re getting gas, these gas rewards programs help you save as you spend. Check out the best gas rewards program options available so you can conserve as you fill up.

1. Costco

Costco has gas stations with rewards right next to the wholesale store itself. You’ll need a Costco membership card to access the brand’s gas stations, which “USA Today” reports are one of the best gas rewards program options because the prices are consistently lower compared to other non-wholesale gas stations. A membership, which starts at $60 a year for two cards per household, gives members access to Costco gas stations around the world.

You could save even more with a Costco Executive membership, at $120 a year. This membership offers 2% back on all qualifying purchases, up to $1,000 in purchases per year. Costco also offers a Costco Gasoline Cash Back Rewards credit card, providing 4% cash back on gas for the first $7,000 per year, and 1% after that.

2. Circle K Easy Rewards

The Circle K Easy Rewards program is free to join. You earn 10 points for every gallon you fill up at Circle K. Once you earn 2,000 points, you save $2 on Circle K purchases. Members get other benefits, like exclusive offers, sweepstakes, and rewards.

3. Shell Fuel Rewards

The Shell Fuel Rewards program is another free loyalty program. As a new member, you’ll automatically save at least 5 cents per gallon on every Shell fill-up with any grade fuel for the first 6 months. Members also get access to exclusive offers.

Depending on your usage of the program, you’ll be categorized into Gold or Silver status after the first 6 months. Gold Status members continue to save 5 cents per gallon, while Silver Status members save 3 cents per gallon. When you link a credit or debit card to your Shell Fuel Rewards program membership, you could save even more, including when you swipe your card at restaurants.

4. Kroger Fuel Points Program

The Kroger family of stores includes names like Fry’s, Pick’n Save, Ralphs, and, of course, Kroger. When you join the Kroger Co. Family of Stores Loyalty Program, you’ll earn one Fuel Point for every $1 you spend at the pump or in grocery stores using your shopper’s card. Points can be used at one of Kroger’s fuel centers, on items like gift cards, or at Kroger pharmacies.

5. Exxon Mobile Rewards+

The Exxon Mobile Rewards+ program is a free loyalty program for Exxon and Mobile gas stations. Earn and redeem points on fuel and convenience store purchases, including 2 cents per dollar in points for in-store purchases and 3 cents per gallon in points at the pump.

The program provides additional options, like earning double points on premium fuel when you meet a minimum number of fill-ups, and extra points for linking an AARP membership with the program.

Save as you get gas

If your gas station of choice wasn’t listed here, they might offer a gas rewards program, too. Look online or ask about your options on your next visit.
