Try This Hot Aperol Recipe

Everybody loves an Aperol spritz in the warm months - it's a light, fruity, sparkling cocktail that's perfect for an afternoon aperitivo. If you're wondering what an Aperol spritz is, it's a classic drink made simply with Aperol (a citrusy, fragrant, and beautifully orange liqueur), soda water, and prosecco. And while all of that sounds delicious and easy to make at home, this time of year, we're craving a beverage that's just a little bit cozier

So, why not put a wintertime spin on this summer favorite? Here,  you'll learn how to make a whiskey and Aperol hot toddy, inspired by this one from Delicious Magazine. This hot Aperol recipe combines two classic cocktails: a hot toddy and an Aperol spritz.

A hot toddy is a warm winter drink, typically made with whiskey, honey, and fresh lemon. Here, we're putting an orangey twist on the drink by adding a splash of Aperol liqueur and fresh orange slices - though just about any citrus fruit would work well. After all, wintertime is prime citrus season! You can also elevate this drink by adding some fragrant mulling spices to the mixture, like star anise or cardamom pods... whatever you have handy in your pantry or find on sale at the grocery store.

Whether you sip this cozy cocktail while binge-watching Christmas movies, tucking into a holiday dinner, or recovering from a day on the slopes, this Whiskey Aperol Hot Toddy will warm you right up.
